Lighter weight and approximately three quarters the volume of the hard case, this soft case is a valuable option for those of us who don't need the full protection of a hard case or would like a lighter option for carrying our radios in a back pack, or in luggage etc. This case is well made and surprisingly rigid. I think it is better described as a semi soft case. The interior is lined with foam padding cut to the shape of the radio.
